YORK!

This weekend all our students went to York! The city is famous for its amazing architecture, its mighty Minster, and of course, its sublime shopping! Locals say it is one of Europe's most inspiring cities. Let's see if our students agree...

1 shy student + 2 weeks? A Joyous Success!

BEFORE: Just over a fortnight ago we received a message here at EAC Hull:

Dear Mr. Betz-Heinemann,

My son ****** (13 years old) arrived yesterday. He has come to Hull to improve his English. His problem is that he only talks too seldom in English language and is shy talking English. It would be a great success, if your people could motivate him to talk more. If possible, please pass this information to the relevant teachers.

Thank you very much for your support in this matter.

AFTER: 2 weeks and one EAC Hull holiday later? A newly extroverted teenager and a wonderful email received earlier today:

Dear David and all EAC Staff,

Thank you very much for working with my son; he came back yesterday evening. He enjoyed very much his stay in Hull and was very positive on his whole stay. He intends to come back next year. His twin brother also wants to travel to the UK next year. So keep us informed about your program next year in summer. Also my thanks to all the other people involved.

Best Regards,

'A grateful father!' (Anonymised)

Sports in Action

A Warm-Up!

Talent Is Our Middle Name

Parlo Americano?

Doug: Hull's Next Top Model?
The Talent Show was an extravaganza! Singing, dancing, acting, modelling, speed-eating... we did it all. Well done to all who participated!
"When I dance they call me macarena..."

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin....

Booker Prize? Blah!

Our students have been getting creative.

After looking at the topic of 'Mysterious places' and learning about pyramids, curses and tombs, some budding young international novelists here at EAC Hull have written some devilishly demonic stories for your delectation.

So, pour yourself a nice long cup of English tea, crack open a lovely packet of biscuits and settle yourself down for a riveting read. Best just make sure the lights are on...

Toga Disco!

On Disco night our students and staff exchanged jeans and tshirts for a more exciting outfit. Sheets were removed from beds and tied into various toga styles. From Ancient Rome to the catwalks of Milan, Paris, Berlin, or Hull: we know how to rock a toga!
